WHILE MERCEDES -BENZ fashion week Australia may be over for another year, our social media feeds remain flooded with images of ruwnay shows and the emergence of new seasonal trends.
Now that the show is over, its time to close the gap between the runway offering and our everyday style as we decipher which trends we will adopt in order to update our wardrobes, and for some, this can be a daunting and confusing task. So where and how do we begin?

1. The first thing to remember is that runway shows are just that; ‘shows’. There will often be an element of extravagance in order to capture the attention of the audience. Not everything you see needs to be taken literally so remember the context and enjoy the fanciful and the sometimes bizarre for what it is

2. Take note of the colours, prints and silhouettes that you are drawn to and think about how you can incorporate them into your current wardrobe as you consider how individual pieces might enhance and compliment your personal style

3. Ask yourself, ‘Where would I wear that?’ Sometimes when it comes to fashion, we simply just fall in love but the relationship isn’t always one that serves us. How often have you caved, and bought that beautiful piece only to have it hanging in your wardrobe because you either have nowhere to wear it or nothing to wear it with. Try and maintain a sense of practicality when it comes to those pieces that are more extravagant in nature and consider if this is really the best place for you to spend your hard earned cash

4. Remember your personal style and don’t feel as though you need to make every single trend work for you. The world has enough vicitims of fashion….

We’d love to hear from you
