This week the eyes of the fashion world were fixed firmly on Sydney in all of it’s majestic charm as it turned on the magic for MBFWA, 2015.
With countless memorable moments on the runway from some of our favourite Australian designers – who will ever forget the Ellery opener – there was of course also much attention paid to the detail that was unfolding street side and it did not disappoint with Tommy Ton snapping up a storm for a global stage.
Our Aussie style makers didn’t miss a beat, from Gemma Ward to our favourite style bloggers and fashion editors, style was on show.
There was no doubting denim as a favourite among the fashionable, after all long days and nights are always a friend of comfortable and chic. For others, a sharper more tailored edge was at play, and as has become somewhat customary during fashion week, plenty of perfectly paired clashing prints.
Trench coats, layering and a stylish mix of textures and power pairings of leather and lace, were the real attention grabbers, along with thigh high splits, and a little bit of skin; not to dismiss the details, pom poms seem to be the accessory of the day, and an “it” bag slung over the shoulder completed the story.
